We encourage all Muslims to Celebrate Religious Freedom and Diversity and Show pride in Being American Muslims.
Join the Fourth of July parade at Bothell. Show your pride in being American Muslims living in Puget Sound Area.
Bring your whole family — a great experience for kids & adults of all ages.
We will march in the Parade as a Muslim contingent and hope other Muslim groups will join us. We are an inclusive organization and welcome other groups. They are welcome to bring their banners also. This will show we are united We are hopeful ICOB and CAIR will join us.
As American Muslims we are committed to greater participation of Muslims in American life. As Muslims we want to show our commitment to peace and harmony among all faiths . We want our neighbors of Bothell to know about Muslim presence in Bothell and our importance to the city. It is therefore specially important for Muslim residents of Bothell/Woodinville to participate in the American Independence Parade at Bothell.
We will arrange some patriotic T Shirts/Hijabs(Scarfs) for participants. These will be depicting American flag and PICACS logos. These will be distributed on first come first served basis.
a) Parade starts at noon from the intersection of Beardslee Blvd and 104 th Av NE
b) Walking groups must be in staging area no later than 1130 AM. We recommend you arrive by 1100.
Staging area is located at the corner of 104th Ave NE between NE 185th and Main Street). Line up is on the 104th Ave NE – next to Union Bank
Our group identity is W4 but we will not know our exact place in the staging lineup until the morning of the parade perhaps at about 1115
c) Roads are closed by about 1030 AM and parking is difficult to come by. Those who come early can park in the Bothell Post Office parking lot and have pancake breakfast organised by Bothell Fire Station.
Parking is Available at the UW-Bothell/Cascadia Community College Parking Garages
Parking is also available for cars after 10 AM at the end of the parade at The Bothell Free Methodist Church – 9500 NE 191st
d) Parade ends on NE 188th St ( POP Keeney Stadium) about 1:15 PM. ( It entails a walk of about half a mile downhill at a leisurely pace)
e) PICACS will arrange candies for distribution which will be handed out to spectators by parade participants. Candies will not be thrown towards spectators. Remember No throwing of Candies and no water guns.
f) Juma prayers are conducted at ICOB ( located at 10634 E Riverside DR suite 200) at 1:30 PM and 3:30 PM. While it may be difficult for parade participants to join first prayer, it will be convenient to join second salat.
