Independence Day Parade

Each year, PICACS participates in the Bothell Fourth of July Parade as a method to represent American-Muslims within the local community.

Community Activities

Annual recognition of 3 outstanding community members. These awards are given out to individuals who PICACS has recognized to have had a significant impact on their community. If you would like to nominate someone, please email us at picacs@picacs.org.

"Feeding the Poor." This activity occurs twice a year, during the weekends following each of the two Eid celebrations that happen each year. PICACS organizes full meals to distribute at local food shelters to less fortunate individuals who are in need of it. PICACS always needs volunteers for these events. Providing sweets to personnel of essential services. PICACS strives to support local services and show our appreciation for their work. Join us next time we deliver sweets to essential services such as the police department, fire department, local hospitals/clinics, and schools. If interested, please email us picacs@picacs.org.

Cooking Demonstrations

PICACS has organized cooking demonstrations in which multiple individuals volunteer to cook for a group of people from within the community. The events have been extremely influential as they expose others to a diverse range of cuisines.

Family Activities

Activities planned for 2017-2018:

  • Indoor games. Chess, carrom, and video games during school holidays
  • Outdoor sports. Cricket, football, soccer, and baseball
  • Outdoor activities. Hunting, fishing, camping, and backpacking during summer (One parent must join child)

These activities are dependent on community interest.  Parents need to properly inform children of the safety issues involved with each activity.

Educational Activities

Essay competition. PICACS holds occasional essay competitions for children K-12. The topics revolve around Muslim festivals. The next competition will be posted on this page. For more information, please email us at picacs@picacs.org.

Quran memorization. PICACS provides services for children to memorize the Quran as well as compete against each other in recitation skills. For more information, please email us at picacs@picacs.org.

Festival education. PICACS believes an essential aspect of its duties is to inform all community members about Muslim holidays, such as Eid. For more information, please email us at picacs@picacs.org.
